One of the newest additions to Ice Park's featured attractions.Tom Ertel on the Ice Park Train

On the weekends and as needed during the week, the new train(s) run from noon to 8 pm, departing every half hour.  A tour takes about 30 minutes through the entire Single Block and Multi Block rows of sculptures.

In 2010, Tom Ertel and his wife Roxy built and painted the six train cars in their garage in three weeks time. Tom works for Hector's Welding in North Pole who aided in the construction of the car wheel bases. The six cars can be pulled as one train, but generally the volunteer engineers run two trains of three cars each.  A four wheeler is the perfect engine.

This year Tom is building a new train that will have a real train engine and 28 ft. car that will carry 40 passengers. Train rides will coss $1per rider.

We can't thank Tom and Roxy enough tor their volunteer efforts that brought the train to Ice Park! Come to Ice Park for a free ride and guided tour of the sculptures and you might just have Tom or Roxy as your engineer guide.
