Site Design and Development:49 Designs by Why Rabbitt, burnin' hare

49 Designs is honored to design for such a premier artistic event as the World Ice Art Championships at Ice Alaska. With over 80 sculpture sites per year, and more than 100 artists visiting from all over the globe, we needed a way to organize and catalog each sculpture and the artists who created them. This job was already being done by the web team at Ice Alaska, but without the use of a database to search and navigate the site! The goals for the site rebuild were to educate visitors about all the park has to offer from each sculpture on the map, whether it is a competitive piece or a kids park feature. After that, giving credit to all of the volunteers who make this event possible. Visit 49Designs online:

Brian Palmer lends his amazing creativity and programming skills to automate workloads and customize applications within the site. The new Ice Alaska map is his crea tive brain child, and was created to offer an alternative way to explore the Ice Park including all its featured attractions and multitude of individual sculptures in a way that gives a spatial sense of this vast park. Palmer's other works include video production, website development & graphic design. More at www.akpalmer.com.
