Biography

Aleksandr holds two higher degrees, one in Architectural Design and a second in Management from the Russian Academy of Public Administration. He is a self-taught wood, stone, snow, and ice carver. His very first wood carving was sold at a school bazaar when he was 14.  He loves to turn wood into fine things for use around the household. He is fascinated with the uniqueness of each wood creation and loves to experiment with different forms and techniques. Aleksandr has prizes from numerous competitions in architectural design, wood, stone, snow and ice sculpture. He takes Japanese Netsuke to a new level--enlarging miniature carvings for parks making sure that each is unique. He never repeats the same design in his Netsuke creations.

His second place in the 2011 Crystal Swan competition on Lake Baikal provided Aleksandr with tickets to Alaska. Aleksandr’s latest competitions are participation in China's 2012 Harbin International Ice And Snow Festival and third place in the V International Magadan Contest of Ice Sculptures -Magadan Crystal
