2013 Theme: Future in Ice

The theme this year was suggested by long-time volunteer Peggy Birkenbuel who put into words how excited we are about the new Ice Park site which is now the permanent new home for the BP World Ice Art Championships. The new George Horner Ice Art Park has a bright Future in Ice as a sculpting medium. And the Park's future plans for year round operation, planning is underway for sculpture competitions using snow, wood and sand as the presentation medium.

| Every year since 1992, Ice Alaska has produced a souvenir pin for the Ice Art Event. From 1992 - 2004, ice sculptor, Anita Tabor and Fred Freer designed our pins. In 2005, the pin design became a contest open to anyone interested in submitting a design. We have been very pleased with the designs submitted and always get a winner. As time got short, this year's pin was designed by the Ice Alaska staff, and volunteers. |
